Braces On....Braces off (Shelby)

And we are officially done with Braces at The Mathews' Household!  Right on schedule (just about 18 months) is all it took for a beautiful SMILE!  But boy, how Shelby has changed in those short 18 months!!!  Time flies...Now to remind them both to wear their retainers and take care of those beautiful teeth!

Again

Cousins!

A few of the pictures that were taken on Thanksgiving at Mom's house!  I tried to save some for the those of you that will be getting a Christmas card :)

This year for Black Friday...we took the teenage girls with us at 3:30am to Target...then on to all the Target strip mall stores then to Walmart and Sports Authority then to Boise Towne Square until about 3:30pm!  Came home and both Shelby and I were asleep by by 7:00 or 7:30 (see I don't even know what time I fell asleep!)  But I do know that I missed the BIG BSU Game!

We had a blast but are thinking about Shopping on our laptops next year...in our PJ's with Coffee and a warm, house!  Sounds good but we probably won't do it!

Freshman Basketball 2010 (Shelby)

Shelby's Frosh Basketball Season is under way...so far they have only played some of the 5A schools and were a little scared.  Although they have had a few close calls...going into the first regular season games of the year on Thursday and Saturday...The Middleton Vikings Girls Frosh team remains undefeated!

Go Lady Vikes!

Halloween 2010

P.S. Not a real cigarette!

This year Cody decided to have a few of his closest friends (about 50) over for a Halloween party.  I wasn't able to capture many pictures but here's hoping that Cody doesn't grow-up to look like this!

Homecoming Dance ~ 2010

Shelby and 3 of her friends went to their first High School Dance this weekend ~ Homecoming!  During the weeks festivities, Shelby was nominated for Freshman class Princess but at the Pep Rally found out that she didn't win.  It was still a honor for her and she will always be our little princess!

The night started with her friend, Jessie coming over and getting ready.  Which as that time went on, we decided that they probably should have started getting ready earlier!  Then at 6:30 Jake and Grady come over with Jake's Mom (Tracy).  Tracy was the driver for the night since all the kids are Freshman and none of them are driving yet!!  The girls were a little shy and late coming out of the bathroom but when they finally did all was fine!  We took some pictures and then they were off.  They started the night at Casa Mexico for dinner and then on to the Dance.  Apparently the line at the Dance for pictures was too long and they didn't get pictures taken there so good thing we took some at home!  The Dance ended at 11:00 and the boys and Tracy had the girls home right away.  The girls were walked to the door by the boys and Dad and I were waiting inside to here about the night!

As I post this, the girls are still sleeping but all and all I think it was a fun night and more dances will probably be in Shelby's future.  Hopefully Cody's too!!!

Volleyball and Pink Week

I was just looking at the blog and decided that I have been taking some time off!  Shelby is almost through her first high school volleyball season and so far it has been a great one!  Next week, she will have one more home game and then Saturday will be the JV district tournament.  They took first in the Weiser JV tournament and 2nd in the Borah JV tournament and this past week participated in the first "Pink Week" at the school!  She is playing with a great group of girls and is enjoying every minute of it!

First High School JV Volleyball Game

Thursday, August 26th was Shelby's first High School Volleyball game!  On Tuesday they played in a Jamboree which I think was probably a good idea to get all the nerves out!  So Thursday, they played Kuna and won in two sets!  Shelby did an awesome job serving and as setter!!  Go Lady Vikes!
