Christmas in Garden Valley
We spent Christmas Eve through Sunday night up in the mountains, in Garden Valley at Dave's Mom and Dad's house. We had plenty of snow and fun sledding, making Gingerbread houses, playing games and just relaxing. As soon as I figure out how to use my new camcorder, I will be posting some more pictures of the fun in the snow!

Merry Christmas
From Our Home to Yours....
As we get ready for Christmas Day, the snow continues to fall! Tomorrow we will be heading up to the mountains, weather permitting...and we are ready for yet more snow! In the mountains, there will be plenty of Christmas cheer, sledding, snowman building, resting and relaxing. We wish you all a very, Merry Christmas.
P.S. I didn't know Cody knew how to use the snow shovel!

Basketball! Basketball! Basketball!
Hopefully all the readers of this blog do not get to tired of reading about basketball! At this time of the year, it seems that all we do is go from one game to the other. What am I talking about? It is all we do no matter what time of the year it is. It is just a different sport!
I do have to share this most recent video of Shelby's Basketball since for once I was able to catch Shelby making a basket. It comes quick so don't miss it.
Next week, we are gearing up for a big week:
Monday-Choir Concert
Tuesday-Cody and Shelby's Basketball games (Dave and myself must split up to watch these games since the times are 4:30 and 5:00)
Wednesday-Shelby's Basketball game
Thursday-"Just practices"
Friday-Cody's game in Jerome
Saturday-Cody's game in Burley
Sunday-December Birthday party at Mom's
No wonder we are so tired all the time!!

Thanksgiving
Thanksgiving 2008
Thanksgiving this year was at Mom's house in Star so not much travel time was needed. We had a wonderful meal prepared by everyone. All the boys enjoyed playing pool and the girls planned their Black Friday Shopping Day! Towards the end of the night, the dress-up wigs come out again! We all had a great time together as always. Now we are looking forward to the next holiday, Christmas up in Garden Valley!

Basketball Season
The basketball season is in full swing. Shelby will play through December and then AAU will start up in January. Shelby has played 6 six games and so far, they are 5-1. They look pretty good. It is so much fun to watch and see how much they have improved in just a year. They are now much more aware of the whole court. It will be interesting to watch all these girls and see how they do as the years go on! After a great game yesterday, Shelby is in bed today with the flu!! Mom is taking a day off to take care of her. Hopefully a little rest is all she needs.
The high school boys' basketball try-outs are tomorrow and Saturday. Cody's season will go through February just in time for baseball to start up.
Good Luck, Cody!
GO VIKINGS!

NEW CAR
NEW CAR! WHAT'S WRONG WITH US???
Dave came home and thought that it was time to get a new car the suburban had 208,000 miles on it. I thought of taking his temperature but instead thought it over for a few weeks and last weekend we headed off USED CAR shopping! I forgot how much fun that was. We ended up with a 2003 Land Rover Freelander with 56,000 miles on it. So far I can't complain since I got 21 mpg just driving back and forth to the high school!
Who's 40!

I don't think that I could say that I was looking forward to turning 40 but all and all it wasn't as bad as I thought! I remember my Mom turning 40 and boy did I think she was old which I'm sure Cody and Shelby think I'm OLD! I hardest part is realizing that your kids are getting older not just you and before you know it, they will be off to college!
I am lucky enough to have a great family and friends. After a long day at a 7th grade Volleyball tournament, then over to a baseball game and then I thought to have dinner and drinks at Elliott's. Well to my surprise, we ended up at our house with a houseful of family and friends and one other friend, Mark Niemeyer that decided to turn 40 with me!! Linda thought that we needed a cane and a walker but I think we can get around for awhile without one!
Check out the pictures, we had a great time! Next year, it's Dave's turn!!

Fall Baseball
This year for Fall Baseball, we decided to play Cody in a 14-18 league in Nampa. Today was the last day of play and finally they decided that he could play with the rest of them; he pitched 4 innings and had 4 strikeouts, 1 hit, 1 walk and no runs then they took him out in the end we lost. It was a great experience for him as a Freshman and next year we plan to have a team in Middleton!
