Saturday was Opening Day!! It all started with a team breakfast (and us) at The Roseberry's and what a great idea! Breakfast was a huge meal of eggs, sausage, biscuits and gravy and juice. A great way to begin team bonding, they even had their first team photo taken at The Roseberry's Bar~After the Freshman game was over Varsity took the field about 2:30pm for a double header. Cody was the starting pitcher and pitched a great 4 innings, he went out with the score 0-1 and hit a ground rule double shot to centerfield but he was left on base. The Vikings ended up coming back in the bottom of 7 to tie the game and go into extra innings. Then they WON 8-7 in the bottom of 8. The second game was called early due to darkness in the 3rd inning with the Vikings winning 9-4. Then they were off to clean up and tear down at the Booster Club dinner and they did a great job! The next series will be against Columbia on Thursday and Friday!
I have to say the wind was a little cold on Saturday!
