First Middle School Track Meet

Thursday was Shelby's first Middle School Track Meet of the season.  We were lucky to be in Middleton as the Varsity Baseball team was playing Kuna at home also :)  Shelby ran in the 4 x 200, 100, and the 200.  She didn't have a chance to Triple jump this week hopefully next week at Columbia.  Their 4 x 200 won but was disqualified due to an exchange, then she ran the 100 and got 3rd in the first heat and her final race was the 200 and she placed 2nd.  Overall a great track meet!

The Baseball team lost that night but came back and won the next night in Kuna!

Easter Day!

We spent a nice, quiet Easter Sunday at my Mom's house.  Just Dave's parents, the kids, Dave and I.  Heather, Tyler and their kids were on Spring Break in Arizona.  With so much going on in our day to day life, it was nice to just relax on Easter Sunday with family :)

Buck's Bags Tournament

The Varsity Buck's Bags Tournament started on Thursday with Middleton playing Timberline (in the rain and wind and SNOW on Friday!) Cody pitched a great game~he went 7 innings with a tie 4-4 but we ended up losing 4-5 in the 8th :(  After that we played Ontario and then Friday morning Highland from Pocatello, they lost both of those games by 10 runs or more...Today they have one more chance in this tournament playing Bishop Kelly at 3:30pm then back to regualar season where they are 1-1!

First Conference Baseball Game

Tonight was the first conference baseball game for the Middleton Varsity team-Cody was the starting pitcher against Columbia and pitched 5 innings for the win 16-4 in the 5th inning! A great start to the official season!

First Baseball Game

Saturday was Opening Day!! It all started with a team breakfast (and us) at The Roseberry's and what a great idea! Breakfast was a huge meal of eggs, sausage, biscuits and gravy and juice. A great way to begin team bonding, they even had their first team photo taken at The Roseberry's Bar~After the Freshman game was over Varsity took the field about 2:30pm for a double header. Cody was the starting pitcher and pitched a great 4 innings, he went out with the score 0-1 and hit a ground rule double shot to centerfield but he was left on base. The Vikings ended up coming back in the bottom of 7 to tie the game and go into extra innings. Then they WON 8-7 in the bottom of 8. The second game was called early due to darkness in the 3rd inning with the Vikings winning 9-4. Then they were off to clean up and tear down at the Booster Club dinner and they did a great job! The next series will be against Columbia on Thursday and Friday!

I have to say the wind was a little cold on Saturday!

Baseball has started and Track starts tomorrow...

It seems like it has been forever since I have updated my own blog. I am doing a good job keeping my school blog up-to-date but not so good on the home front! The last weekend of February was the beginning of High School baseball tryouts and Wednesday the teams were picked and we are proud to say that Cody made Varsity as a Sophomore. Hopefully all his hard work with American Legion, Fall Ball and the couple of baseball camps that he was able to attend over the winter paid off. The first double header is this coming weekend at home on March 13th and then again a double header on Monday the 15th.

Shelby had AAU basketball tryouts and we are awaiting the results. The team should be picked by Friday the 12th. Track starts tomorrow and we aren't quite sure when softball will start. All we know for sure is that she will be one busy girl and we will be two busy parents!! Luckily Cody is now driving!

Congratulations Shelby!

Congratulations goes out to Shelby and her 8th grade Nyssa Select Basketball team who this weekend won the Championship! They played a great game against Payette in the Championship games that was 29-26 Middleton at the end of the 3rd quarter then Middleton pulled away and won 49-30! Shelby scored 12 points in that game and was top scorer in the Middleton vs. Marsing game in the morning with 12 or 14 points! The girls were so excited and are now ready for a little break before AAU Basketball starts up along with middle school track and softball :)
